Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group of Companies, is seeking a qualified professional to join our growing Sales team.


The Sales Manager, Microelectronics is a technical sales role responsible for all direct sales, sales support and account management for the Microelectronics business unit.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer interaction via in-person visits, video conference, phone and e-mail.

  • Lead qualification, generation and follow up.

  • Data base creation and maintenance.

  • Data input, manipulation and rectification of sales contact and account information in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application.

  • Quote dissemination to customers, follow up and analysis.

  • Customer sales analysis, forecasting and budgeting required in conjunction with customer contact; general communications with internal and external customers.

  • Regular travel to customer locations within their geographic regions or market areas required.

  • Travel outside the US and / or outside specific geographical region as required to support efforts at specific customers or in key market areas.

  • Attendance at relevant industry trade shows and technical conferences.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in a Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science; or one to two years related experience and/or training is preferred; Business Degree or MBA is a plus.

  • Business Development, Product Management and Marketing experience a plus.

  • Experience in microelectronics deposition materials preferred, or relevant experience in microelectronics materials.

  • Minimum 8+ years commercial sales and / or marketing experience in related industry. Silicon chemistry/ market preferred.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and other communications as required.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Must be able to interact on the personal level with all facets of customers organization including technical and purchasing staff.

  • Presentation skills required for small and large audience.

  • Ability to speak fluent English, Other language skills such as Japanese, Korean or Mandarin a plus.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Computer software expertise in design and completion of report forms and details.
